Recipient of Prestigious Award for the Second Consecutive Year

CAMBRIDGE, MA – November 20, 2014 – InsightSquared, a provider of next generation business intelligence software as a service, has been recognized for the second year in a row as one of the “Top Places to Work” by The Boston Globe.  This award acknowledges InsightSquared’s outstanding achievement in creating and maintaining one of the most positive work environments in all of Massachusetts.

The Boston Globe’s 2014 “Top Places to Work” survey was conducted by employee survey firm WorkplaceDynamics.  This survey measured roughly 73,500 responses to statements regarding six key factors related to employee happiness, including company direction, execution, employee connection, work load and responsibility, management, and pay and benefit.  The survey found the least important factors to be pay, benefits and work-life balance.  Survey subjects placed much higher importance on employee appreciation, confidence and a meaningful connection to the work.  WorkplaceDynamics also found that of all the cities surveyed, employees in Boston were most enthusiastic about their companies.

InsightSquared ranked number 13 out of 25 finalists in the Small Companies category.  InsightSquared had 66 employees at the time of the survey in April.  The company now employs well over 100 people and shows no signs of slowing down. They’ve since moved to a larger Cambridge office, triple the size of their old space, to accommodate the rapid growth.

The CEO of InsightSquared, Fred Shilmover has a three bullet mission statement for this company.  One of the three bullets is to create a place so awesome that employees would rather be at work than anywhere else. “Our company culture is an integral part of InsightSquared,” said Shilmover.  “The ‘Top Places to Work’ is the most important award to me because it’s a direct reflection of how happy our team is.  They inspire and motivate me every day, and I love coming to work because of them.  This is by far the best job I’ve ever had.”

Some of the ways InsightSquared stands out as an employer include perks such as: free delivered lunch every day, three kegerators full of rotating craft beers, unlimited vacation days, Friday Happy Hour, and a ping pong table.
