The dust has settled on Bullhorn Live, and folks have found their way back home after an action-packed few days in Boston. Bullhorn Live was a huge success, connecting Bullhorn customers with like-minded firms, staffing and recruiting industry thought leaders, and leading suppliers in the space – including Bullhorn’s expansive hometown team members, who were present throughout the show.

While Day 1 of Bullhorn Live was filled with informative breakout sessions and a fun Beantown-themed cocktail reception, Day Two continued to stack value atop an already great show.

Throughout the flood of information presented at the conference, we found these 3 Big Takeaways from Bullhorn Live most exciting – and central to the growth of the Bullhorn community and the staffing and recruiting industry in general.

1. Bullhorn S Release is the Real Deal

Not surprisingly, Bullhorn’s S Release was a major focus of this year’s conference. In his welcome address on Thursday, Bullhorn CEO Art Papas highlighted all of the benefits of the new release: including a new and improved user interface, accessibility on all browsers and mobile devices, social recruiting capabilities, and a whole host of features designed to integrate the sales and recruitment sides of businesses.
Bullhorn made waves when they announced the S Release in March 2014, and given what they showed off at Bullhorn Live, they have every right to be sounding the trumpets for S Release.

2. The Customer Rules All

The second major focus of the conference was the customer. Internally, Bullhorn has focused all of their development efforts since 2011 on delighting the customer. Faster search, a cleaner user experience, and innovative features make Bullhorn the leader in the ATS space. Externally, the conference highlighted the importance of branding your firm and unifying your sales process, all with the customer in mind.

The engaging keynote speech presented by James Kane on Friday morning highlighted the necessity of customer engagement in a company’s success, and Bullhorn’s leaders reiterated this in their Management Town Hall session on Friday as well.

3. The Only Constant in Recruiting is Change

From Big Data and the impact of politics on the global job market to population growth and STEM training in emerging markets like China – there were two key themes pervasive in almost every  message: change is constant in staffing and recruiting AND every change is an opportunity to make money in this massively evolving market.

Bullhorn CEO Art Papas touched upon these themes in his opening keynote, and they reverberated throughout the conference by speakers like’s Jean-Paul Isson who discussed using analytics to grow one’s business.

Altogether, the conference, which ran from Wednesday, June 18 to Friday, June 20, 2014 was an impressive display from Bullhorn, who showed that they continue to focus deeply on customers and their daily Bullhorn experience, while also looking ahead to the future of staffing and recruiting, Big Data, and the anticipated global growth the industry will see in the coming years.
