July Sales Spotlight

The end of of the month is always a busy time for every organization. For the team at InsightSquared, it is also much anticipated for another reason: our monthly company lunch. More than just another meeting or get-together opportunity, these company gatherings help to build the employee-centric culture at InsightSquared and have become a true celebration of the awesome people working here.

At the end of every month, the InsightSquared team gathers for lunch to look back at performance and recognize outstanding employees. Two Executive team members, representing two different departments, will take the stage to present company updates and celebrate employee achievements. Above all, it’s an occasion for everyone to have some fun while getting to know someone they may not have otherwise spoken to before.

The spotlight of each company lunch is the “recognition dart.” Each presenting Executive chooses an employee from their respective department to receive this award for going above and beyond, being a top performer, an outstanding achievement, etc. Winners of the recognition dart get to throw a dart at a board of balloons to reveal a surprise award hidden inside (what a way to celebrate!). And the surprise gifts themselves never disappoint. From Red Sox tickets to wine tours to gift cards, they are just as much fun as the process of revealing them. You just have to be sure not to miss while the whole company is watching!

The winners of July’s recognition dart were Andrew Root and Annie Leng, both from the Sales department. Annie and Andrew were recognized for their outstanding performance and, with their amazing dart-throwing skills, won some cool awards: a kayak rental for Annie and an Urban Axes gift card for Andrew.

Andrew joined the Customer Enablement team at InsightSquared two years ago and has since then moved on to the Account Management team to get back to his passion for sales. He loves working with customers who are pouring themselves into growing their companies and solving problems for people who care so much about what they do, and that is what motivates him to go above and beyond at work every day. Andrew is recognized for his sense of urgency and tenacity at work, solving his customers’ problems with creative solutions. From start to finish, he delivers on all key actions and follows through with his plan through outstanding planning and resource leverage.

Andrew stressed the importance of the tight-knit team and the empowered working environment, which is also one of the reasons he chose to work at InsightSquared in the first place. When he is not at his desk, Andrew can be found traveling, hiking, and skiing in Vermont or fishing and paddle boarding in Buzzards Bay.

For Annie, next month will mark her two-year anniversary at InsightSquared as well. A Hamilton College alumni with a degree in Economics and Hispanic Studies, Annie never thought of a career in sales until she joined InsightSquared as a Business Development Representative, and since then she has continued to deliver. Only six months into her first job out of college, Annie was promoted to the position of Senior Business Development Representative, having broken the company’s all-time record of most opportunities sourced in a given month. She’s currently an Account Executive and has continued to exceed her performance goals. For H1 2019, Annie ranked first in the emerging team and second overall with 12 new logos added.

Outside of work, Annie loves hiking, going to the beach, traveling and wine tasting. Growing up outside of Boston, she also loves playing volleyball for the city of Cambridge club.
